Mr Errol Comrie

Principal

Errol brings a wealth of experience from his work across a diverse range of inner London schools, where he has held various roles throughout his career. His experience spans different educational settings, from primary to secondary, working with students from a wide range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. This has provided him with deep insight into the unique challenges and opportunities faced by urban schools, particularly in supporting disadvantaged students and those with special educational needs. His work in these schools has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in delivering high-quality education in inner-city environments.

Throughout his career, he has been recognised for his outstanding leadership abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to creating positive educational outcomes for young people. Errol holds an MA in Education, the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), and an Executive Leadership Award from the University of Oxford. These qualifications have solidified his reputation as a leader with a deep understanding of the complex challenges facing education and social systems today.

One of Errol’s core beliefs is that addressing limited educational opportunities and restricted employment prospects is essential to breaking the cycle of inequality. His commitment stems from his understanding of how certain socio-economic circumstances, such as exposure to environmental hazards and violence, perpetuate cycles of disadvantage. Errol is a passionate advocate for equality in all its forms, recognising that while some individuals and regions thrive, others are left behind, deepening social disparities.

Errol is particularly passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). He thrives on the challenge of working with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them achieve their goals and aspirations. He believes that every child deserves access to a quality education and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to society.

Outside of the school environment, Errol is deeply involved in initiatives aimed at reducing serious youth violence both locally and nationally. He is a true community leader, consistently championing the voices of those who are often unheard.

Particular areas of interest:

  • Reforming education and social systems to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Supporting children and young people with SEND.
  • Enhancing parental confidence in the British education system.
  • Promoting social mobility and reducing inequality.
